Breismeister, Michael

Breismeister Michael Attorney
Senior Associate Attorney
408-645-6395

Michael Breismeister joined Yew Immigration Law Group, a P.C., in June 2018 as an associate attorney. He graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (in Sacramento, CA) in 2007 and has been licensed by the California State Bar for 12 years.

Prior to practicing immigration law, Michael was with the prosecutor’s office in Marin County and then later had his own law practice as a criminal defense lawyer. In 2015, Michael made the move to immigration law and began contract work with other immigration attorneys. This gave him insights into the vast area of immigration law, and he became experienced in niche areas, such as O-1 visas, a type of non-immigrant visa for extraordinary workers.

In late 2017, began working with Yew Immigration Law Group as a contract attorney. During this time, he demonstrated his talent in legal research and writing and creative arguments before USCIS. He joined the firm in mid-2018 as a full-time associate and has handled all of the firm’s various family and employment-based cases. Notable cases include EB-1A and O-1A for extraordinary ability workers in sciences, business, and athletics, P-1A for athletes, EB-4 special religious worker immigrants, L-1A for managers and executives, and many other challenging and difficult cases, including arguing USCIS error before the AAO.  Michael’s background in criminal law and psychology well-positioned him with in-depth and empathetic client interviews in the waiver (I-601A and I-601) and VAWA (victim of abuse/battery) cases.
